Two Failed Referenda! Twice Wasting your Dues Dollar$ !
Double Disregard for your Decisions!
…We can’t see you voting for us twice!

Leadership requires offering solutions that ALL of the membership can get behind...and support wholeheartedly! Not costly ‘solutions’ like the failed $700,000 ATA/NATR giveaway & $1.7 million Consolidation fiasco! Both of These costly mistakes failed to garner enough support from the membership to meet constitutional requirements! These are not winning ‘solutions’! But rather failed ‘resolutions’! The SAG ballot is on the way, and you’ll get another chance to take back control of your future—and that scares the hell out of us!!!
We had hoped to be turning over our Autonomy and All of our Collective Assets to an INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE! But thanks to the “vote-no-on-everything” phony macho attitude of 42 percent of our members……WE FAILED! But, rather than trying cooperation, we persist with our fanatic fixation on consolidation! We continue to finger point and bemoan our failure! Instead of cutting “our losses, and moving forward, we are intent on cutting “your throats” while looking backward!
Soon we will be entering two critical contract negotiations. We will need leadership with balls--not bells and whistles! Leaders who will stand up for our members not go-along-to-get-along grovelers who are more concerned with RESPECT than RESULTS!
In one long year for members, United Screen Actors Nationwide is frankly, ashamed of our failed record!
- No actions to franchise ATA/NATR agents. Even though it’s been over a year and a half since the membership spoke on this issue! And, when members come forward and ask for our help with onerous GSAs, we tell them to get a lawyer!
- Nothing done to curb California’s runaway productions---but try and get a better deal for producers. Ah, but, in fairness to us, we have made tremendous gains in reducing the ‘massive’ runaway of Illinois productions.
-
And to SAG members complaining about your 50 dollar a month co-payment for medical coverage, we say stop bitching & be thankful you don’t have AFTRA coverage!
-
We “say” that we fought for elimination of the corrupt 3 voucher plan! But since we control the board, you might wonder with whom we were fighting! We fought with our conscience. It told us elimination of the 3 voucher was the right thing to do! But if we had done so, we couldn’t now use the voucher issue as a dangling carrot to get the vote of background players. Score one for our favorite orange vegetable!
So you SEE if you want new leadership that will put the Membership First, you’ll clearly vote for “two” strong leaders: Kent McCord & Esai Morales --and Membership First! slate IN A NEW YORK MINUTE !
