*hot SAG Watchdog runs “AFTRA Leadership Team” Ad through its World Famous Debunkulator !!

.: .
Date: Monday 5/11/2009

For parody to be humorous, it has to be based on facts. And that is the problem with the ‘AMPTP First’ AFTRA Leadership Teams' attempt at parodying Membership First in their ‘Wilshire Boulevard’ ad.

It is parody based on Bunk. And that’s exactly why the Ol’ Watchdog decided it to run it through our World Famous Debunkulator.

Here’s what the ad looked like after being debunked.

AFTRA ELECTIONS-MAY 2009

Vote For AFTRA Leadership Team Candidates if you hate to get residuals and love to see most of the work on the Internet done non-union by fi-core members.

Vote For AFTRA Leadership Team Candidates if you don’t want to be able to see the contracts you work under (Until you work under them) and don’t want to be able to verify the results of AFTRA referendums.

Vote For AFTRA Leadership Team Candidates if you favor broadcasters voting on, and becoming the determining factor on actors contracts.

On the Other hand, if you are tired of AFTRA’s leadership screwing actors by low-balling contracts and taking money out of their pockets to put in AFTRA Coffers, then vote for the following AFTRA Candidates who will stand up for actors.

A.L. Miller SW Editor & Chief WOOF !

^The female in the ad is AFTRA Leadership candidate Susan Boyd Joyce and the quote "Actors make too much money" came from a june 28, 2007 email sent out to her supporters. Her exact quote was:

"Some people keep talking about AFTRA "giving away" inferior rates. That is a lie on its face. For me - a scale performer - SAG has priced its rank and file out of the market almost entirely."
