Watchdog Editorial
The Ol’ Dog has been watching the coverage of the early reporting on the devastation as the result of a 7.0 earthquake in Haiti. At this point, it is apparent that this is not just bad. It is a disaster of tremendous proportions that will result in unimaginable human suffering.
I’ll, of course, make a donation, as I am sure many of you will do. Actors are some of the most generous folks in the world. My regret is that I and others cannot make our donations through our great guild, SAG, which has made it possible for us to do so.
Just, a thought, wouldn’t it be great if we could do it through our union. Perhaps, those in a leadership position would set up some sort of “Haiti Relief fund” for us to do so. Perhaps we could go online at the SAG Website and make our donation.
Now maybe there are logistic problems that I am not aware of that make that impossible, but if not,I would ask NED David White, our SAG Staff and our SAG board do so. Or, better yet, why not a cooperative group with other unions--and even our entire entertainment industry could come together to implement such a move?
After all, what better way for all of us to come together than to do so by helping others.

In the meantime, I will try and post credible organizations where you can make a donation should you want to do so.
