The consensus is that Melissa Gilbert has been reelected SAG President because of the support she got from New York and the branches. Although New York exhibited a great deal of apathy, this political ennui did not spill over into the branches.
While Hollywood voting totaled 14,110 out of 53,155 ballots, or 26.6%; and New York voting was 6,380 votes out of 23,305 ballots, or 27.4%; the regional branches made their voice heard loud and clear with 11,150 of 20,744, or 53.7%.
While we here at EMC may disagree with the way they voted, we can not deny that they prove that in order for Every Member to Count…Every Member must be Counted!
Congratulations to our Branch Members for giving us all a very real demonstration of what can be accomplished when our credo “Every Member Counts!” is put into practice.
