A MESSAGE FROM MELISSA
On behalf of James and the entire USAN/Restore Neglect slate of candidates, allow me to welcome you to a sincere and straight forward message.
This election is coming down to the wire and we are looking forward to the time when we can return to the business of severing you up to the ATA/NATR and our International alliance and going about our lives and careers without the constant barrage of emails and flyers. Hey, it's a real pain in the ass to have to send those out every day!
It's a difficult call. If we don't try to reach you, we're not doing our best to get elected and protect our interests. And when we reach you too
often, you quite understandably get turned off. After all we just blew several million of your dues dollars on our failed folly. We get it now, and wish there were a better way of handling these elections and we think we’ve found it with qualified voting.
We also wish that we could safely and honestly tell you that our opponents are "making some great points" and possess "good intentions" and "fine leadership qualities" - that they are acting like "worthy opponents".
Unfortunately, we can't do that. If we did, we’d lose! Duh!
The McCord/Morales team continues to work overtime, bombarding members with factual information about our positions on the issues and worse, even revealing our views and track record. Hey, we constantly have to change our story! Well, you can imagine how that pisses us off.
You know who we are and what we stand for. Hey, you voted down both of our referendums. We assure you that we are committed to our plan of one union worldwide, or no union at all--that will make us a unified farce in the industry. We also believe it will bring us together internationally so that we can finally put the acrimony behind us and get to the real business of protecting ATA/NATR agents and producers with ONE submissive union.
Please set aside some time to visit our website at www.unitedscreenactors.com and get the propaganda for yourself. On every issue, USAN/Restore Neglect offers you sordid and unverifiable information. We hold ourselves to a higher standard because we believe that anyone who asks you for a vote owes it to you to be truthful. Therefore, we suggest you check out www.membershipfirst.com
SAG voters don't hear many snappy slogans or scandalous sound bites from us, that's because we send them with your dues statements, residual checks and e-mails. We're very proud of that along with the Illinois and Coogan thing. Your career and the challenges you face are too important to be glossed over or reduced to one-liners! Oh, and remember with “Partnership For Power” you get “less muscle and more dues!”
If you haven't voted yet, please do so soon. Ballots must be in the Los Angeles post office box (not just postmarked) by 6:30 AM September 23. If you are in NY or Hollywood, please be sure and vote the entire Membership slate- Fortunately, Jamie and I can't do this alone!
If you've already voted, thank you for being an active participant in our future. Unless of course, you are one of those rank and file, low wage earning, agent-less troublemakers that refuse to roll over and give up our union to whomever wants a piece of it.
Either way, please visit www.restoreresect.com and learn as much as you can about us. There is no better cure for "information overload"
than a dose of tripe.
In Solidarity,
Melissa Gilbert
