Screen Actors Guild Members: A Chance to Attend Next Hollywood Board Meeting
In the interest of transparency, the Hollywood Division board will open its March 27 meeting to members-at-large for observation. Guild archives indicate that is a landmark event. All members who would like to attend must be in good standing, affiliated with the Guild's Hollywood Division and willing to comply with observation procedures.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The board meeting is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. March 27 in the James Cagney Boardroom at 5757 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036.
Space is limited. Reservations are a must and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (subject to stated requirements). If interested, please do not respond directly to this email. Rather, please email hollywoodrsvp@sag.org or call (323) 549-6029. Be sure to include your professional name, SAG membership number and contact information.
Only accepted observers will be contacted with confirmation and details.

Now, if we could only get the clandestine USAN-Controlled New York Board to follow suit! Don’t hold your breath on that one! During their four-year control of the National Board, Restore Respect/USAN leadership consistently rejected Membership Firsts request for such meetings. And, ah, now they have more important things to do, like trying to get the last election overturned.
Rather than applaud this historic event, USAN New York Board member Tom Ligon had this divisive comment to make on the Showfax Bulletin Board!
If Hollywood claims, it wants to "open" board meetings to members-at-large in some kind of dog-and-pony show of "openness and transparency", I'm sure the Barrs, Beasors, and Millers of your bunch would love to participate. We honestly haven't the space to do that in New York, but we do hold and plan as many member-inclusive events as we can. All the real "business" in Hollywood gets done in the Membership First secret smoke-filled backroom anyway.
No enough space?
Ah, Okay, I’m sure New York members will find solace in the knowledge that the New York Leadership will at least included them in as many events AS THEY CAN.
As to who is pulling the Dog & Pony show, we’ll just have to leave that up to the membership.
