Hot Off the Presses HOT !! Just over an hour ago, Melissa Gilbert commented on the AIMA Gothic Lampoon featured on this web site-- and we’ve got all the juicy details!

.: .
Date: Tuesday 9/2/2003

Your editor was at the Studio City Credit Union passing out fliers this morning. On the opposing side of the side walk, glad handing and passing out fliers, was Melissa along with Restore Respect candidates Loretta Swit and Vivicca Whitsett.

During a lull in the action, Melissa stepped forward and informed me that someone had sent her a copy of The AIMA Gothic photo that appears on this web site! And, before I could dive for cover behind a nearby tree, she very graciously remarked that it was very funny and that she was flattered. Later, on her way toward a nearby Subway shop, she very graciously asked if I’d like a sandwich or a soft drink. I very graciously told her “no thanks” but that I thought she was very gracious for asking.

Later, when it was time for me to leave, I bide farewell to Membership First candidate Robert Amico then stepped over to the other side, and very graciously said “goodbye.” to Melissa and her fellow candidates! All three very graciously responded “goodbye!” My, God, I think we bonded!

Although EMC may fault President Gilbert for her policies, we could never fault her graciousness or sense of humor displayed on this occasion! Now, I wonder how she’ll respond once she’s read some of the captions that go along with that Gothic photo? Hmmm, Just to be on the safe side, perhaps the next time that I’m out there, I’d better position myself a tad closer to that tree!

*An EMC aside: If Membership First candidate Robert Amico works half as hard for us, if elected---as he is working now for his slate, he’ll make one hell of a board member.
